Fize

Overview

Consumer-permissioned insurance data provider positioning itself as “real-time, carrier-verified data access” for agents, brokers, carriers, insurtechs, and lenders. Mechanism is the same credential-link pattern as the rest of this cohort — the vendor’s own analogy is “linking a checking account to Venmo” — with a document-upload alternative (“sync or upload policies”). Returns 250+ structured data fields across policy overview, policyholder, vehicle/property, coverage limits, plus document retrieval, as JSON. Claims access to data from “~95% of policies.” Lines: personal (home, auto, umbrella) plus commercial auto; broader than axle’s personal-only schema, narrower than canopy-connect’s full commercial range. Integrates EZLynx, HawkSoft (formal API Partner Program member, announced 2023), and Zapier.

Founding details, headquarters, team size and funding are not disclosed on the company site and were not found in accessible sources (checked 2026-08-17) — (unknown — needs source).

Relationships

  • canopy-connect · insurgrid · axle — same consumer-permissioned ingestion cohort, same underlying credential-login mechanism; Fize sits between them on commercial scope (commercial auto only, and in beta).
  • HawkSoft · ezlynx — named AMS/rater integration partners, the same distribution pattern Canopy and InsurGrid both pursue.

Notes

  • Pricing is fully published and per-sync metered — the most transparent in the cohort (checked 2026-08-17):

    PlanMonthlyAnnual (/mo)UsersSyncs/moExtra syncExtra user
    Growth$89756/yr)550$2$15
    Scale$2001,680/yr)10150$2$15
    Commercial (beta)$3252,748/yr)10150customcustom

14-day trial on all plans; free EZLynx integration; 7-year document history included at every tier. Enterprise Connect is custom-quoted.

  • The commercial tier is explicitly marked “Beta” — the only vendor in insurance-vendor-diligence-tracker to label its own commercial support as pre-GA. Read alongside canopy-connect’s G2-reported commercial flakiness and insurgrid’s contested commercial-credential-pull claim, this is a third independent signal that commercial credential pull is not a solved problem for anyone — which supports rather than threatens policy-ingestion-requires-a-data-rail.

  • Per-sync economics (4–6, 2 quote points) but more expensive than insurgrid’s flat unlimited $99/mo at any real volume. For check-up-funnel-scale traffic the flat-rate vendor still wins on cost; Fize is the middle option.

  • Not yet assessed: API auth model, sandbox, webhook design, carrier list, completion/reliability rate, data-retention terms, funding and ownership. All would need a vendor call — the same method that proved far more productive than desk research on 2026-08-17-directions-insurgrid-vendor-call.
