Vertafore
Overview
Long-established US insurance-software vendor; its QQ Catalyst agency management system is what greg-ehly’s three-broker independent agency runs on. In that agency the AMS is the single system of record: customer and policy data, reporting by carrier and by line, and generation of COIs and ACORD forms. Sits in the same incumbent AMS layer as applied-systems and the newer momentum-amp.

Notes
- The “download” button is the whole story. Each morning the broker clicks download and the AMS pulls the previous day’s carrier activity — new policies, renewals, claims, cancellation notices — from direct-appointment carriers (Nationwide, Progressive were named). New customers and policy data populate automatically.
- Anything placed through a wholesaler does not download. Name, email, DOB, and policy detail are keyed in by hand purely so the AMS can generate COIs and ACORDs. For greg-ehly this is roughly half the SMB commercial book — the manual half.
- Reporting is strong enough to be used for carrier appointment applications: new business by period, by carrier, or by line (commercial auto, BOPs).
