Sierra

Overview

Enterprise AI agent company; co-founded by Bret Taylor (also Chairman of OpenAI). Treated in 2026-05-06-brain-os-strategy-brainstorm as the most credible enterprise-agent competitor — well-funded, well-staffed, and explicitly going after the Fortune-500 segment that Monday-tier companies will not pay them for.

Relationships

  • Indirect competitor of the Brain — competes for enterprise-agent budget and FDE-style deployments.
  • Adjacent overlap with harmony in the call-center vertical.

Notes

  • Go-to-market: targeting Fortune-500 non-cybersecurity / non-tech (telcos, retail, etc.) — companies with massive operational expense and zero realistic chance of building this themselves. Each Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) reportedly costs Sierra ~10× a Monday/eToro developer.
  • Talent density flagged repeatedly as the reason to take them seriously: hired Mixpanel’s VP Product as an IC engineer for ~$7M signing; Guy knows this person personally and vouches for the team.
  • Uses synthetic agents (multiple personas testing the live agent) to drive self-improvement of their deployed agents — a pattern the Brain/Harmony team also intends to use.
  • (unknown — needs source): exact product surface area; whether they offer a “company brain” layer or only agent harnesses.
  • 2026-05-31 update (per Nizan): Sierra has reportedly raised ~$1B in a recent round — adds to the “well-funded enough to keep buying talent” frame Guy held in earlier syncs. Number not independently verified.
