Overview

Single JSON API to quote/bind commercial insurance across multiple carriers (BOP, GL, WC, cyber, professional/E&O, D&O and more) — the closest thing to Stripe-for-SMB-quoting that exists. $12M Series A (Oct 2024); acquired Babbix (email-native AI placement agent, July 2025) and rebranded to heraldai.com, drifting from pure infrastructure toward broker-facing AI agents. Publishes an “Insurance API Index” of 86 carriers/MGAs with 228 API-enabled products (an index of the market, not all live Herald connections).

Notes

• Verified from Herald’s own docs (Aug 2026): Herald does not provide carrier appointments — “the producer has to be appointed and authorized by the insurance carrier”; connections authenticate existing appointments. Herald offers organization-level introductions only.
• Why it matters: Herald × the partner brokerage’s appointments = exactly the P0/P1 neutral-rater architecture in insurance-tech-integration-stack. Coverage = intersection of Herald’s live connections × the partner’s appointments.
• Watch item: post-Babbix, Herald is building broker AI agents — a rail that may converge on our product. Keep the integration swappable.
